About Texada Island

Texada Island is a small, self sustained community - with 2 grocery stores (incl alcohol), gas station, post office, restaurants, marina, provincial park, and a unique quarry lake full of minerals.  Our Cabin is located in the ever popular Gillies Bay area with vast ocean views and is close to everything, including the Farmer's Market and the famous Shelter Point! The other area is Van Anda.

Its about the same distance as going to the Okanagan from Vancouver, only easier with less driving and more relax time on the ferry !Close to the Sunshine Coast / Powell River and 5+ hours** from Vancouver by ferry combined with driving, Texada Island is the largest of the Gulf Islands with so much to offer. A short distance across the waters from Comox, Vancouver Island on the Malaspina Strait. Hop over if you're headed to Lund or Desolation Sound.

A half-hour ferry takes you to Powell River which is a relatively big city with big box stores such as Canadian Tire and Walmart.

The Beach House is a few minutes walk to a grocery store, restaurant, farmers market, community hall, library, medical clinic and tennis courts and a thrift store, concession stand, many beaches, close to hiking trails, 9 hole golf, boat access, airport and a 20 min drive to Blubber Bay ferry terminal..

Experience island life and the beach cottage lifestyle!
