Its about the same distance as going to the Okanagan from Vancouver, only easier with less driving and more relax time on the ferry !Close to the Sunshine Coast / Powell River and 5+ hours** from Vancouver by ferry combined with driving, Texada Island is the largest of the Gulf Islands with so much to offer. A short distance across the waters from Comox, Vancouver Island on the Malaspina Strait. Hop over if you're headed to Lund or Desolation Sound.

A half-hour ferry takes you to Powell River which is a relatively big city with big box stores such as Canadian Tire and Walmart.

The Beach House is a few minutes walk to a grocery store, restaurant, farmers market, community hall, library, medical clinic and tennis courts and a thrift store, concession stand, many beaches, close to hiking trails, 9 hole golf, boat access, airport and a 20 min drive to Blubber Bay ferry terminal..
